Bruce Gardner Adagio Wizard Registered: 06/15/04 Posts: 3504 Loc: Toronto ON, Canada	Hello: The Microsoft web-site states that Opportunistic Locks cannot be disabled for Vista computers. See the quote below. Quote: • The opportunistic locking registry keys are valid only for traditional SMB (SMB1). You cannot turn off opportunistic locking for SMB2. SMB2 was introduced in Windows Vista to enable faster communication between computer that are running Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. • If you disable opportunistic locking, the offline files feature in Windows Vista fails. What is the recommended approach when installing Adagio? Is SMB2 the only choice for Vista or can SMB1 still be used? _________________________ Bruce Gardner ARX Business Solutions Inc.

Retired_Guy Adagio Master Registered: 03/16/99 Posts: 10493 Loc: Canada	Hi Bruce, Here's what we know so far: Adagio compatibility with Microsoft Server 2008 (Longhorn) has not been announced. Adagio compatibility with Vista stations on Server 2008 has not been determined. We are currently testing this environment. Until compatibility has been announced this configuration should not be used and is not supported. Running XP stations on Server 2008 should not be an issue. Adagio (8.1A and higher) compatibility with Vista SP2 will be announced shortly. Running Vista SP2 on Microsoft Server 2003 should not be an issue. Softrak is fully committed to compatibility with Server 2008 and Vista for all Adagio products. _________________________ Andrew Bates
