We have just updated to Payables 8.1B and I am now unable to import invoices from Excel into Adagio. When I try to import invoices from Excel I get a partial screen that briefly displays the message Office 2000 End Use Agreement - Print EULA/Accept/Decline. However it does not allow you to choose any of the options, that screen disappears and Adagio reports
Error Code: 1001 on to XLCreateEx.

Previously I could import into Adagio with no problem.

What version of Excel is used to save the file you are importing?

I am using Office 2007, but the file is saved as a .xls file (1997-2003). I have tried doing the import saving the file as a 2007 excel file .xlsx but that doesn't work either.

Hi Sandra,

We did update the underlying tools for importing in Adagio Payables 8.1B, replacing obsolete tools. So indeed changes occured for importing in this version.

Does your Excel sheet contain any formulas that reference other sheets or workbooks? Or are all the values in the Excel sheet raw values (numbers and text)?

Is the Excel file open? Is Excel open? Issues may occur if the file is open or didn't close correctly.

Do you get any Validation errors during the import? What is the sequence of events for error messages after you click the Import button? We had one report where the same error appeared, but the problem was that an invalid value was attempted to be imported. When the Excel file was corrected to contain correct information, the error went away.

In the \softrak\system directory, look for a file named SSI2XL.DLL. If you check the Properties (right-click), what is the version of the file?

Problem resolved. We are running Adagio off of our server and it looks like something happened on the server that made it think that we no longer had a licensed version of excel. Once we accepted the license agreement in Excel on the server, the import/export functions work in Adagio.

I get this error and it only exports the first 1024 items in Invoices 9.0. I checked the server and it has a registered version of Excel. This Export only stopped working after installing 9.0.

Hi, Wendell,

Is this the full message? Do you also get asked to save the file? And, if so, have you? What version of Excel are you using? Is it run off of the server or locally?

Have to ask you some of the same questions as in the Payables case.

Does your Excel sheet contain any formulas that reference other sheets or workbooks? Or are all the values in the Excel sheet raw values (numbers and text)?

Is the Excel file open? Is Excel open? Issues may occur if the file is open or didn't close correctly.

Hello All,

I am setting up a new chart of accounts in Ledger (9.0C 100511) and attempted to import the chart from excel (2007 saved as an xls spreadsheet). I received the same error "Error code: 1001 on ToXLCreateEX" when I attempted the import.

I saved the file a csv file, re-tried the import and all imported fine. I get no validation errors and the CSV files was created directly from the .xls file so any potential data problems should exist in both.

The version of the SSI2XL.dll file is 1.11.21.255

Hi, Ken,

Are you also using Excel 2007? I've just completed an account import of new accounts using the same version(release) of GL and ssi2xl 255 without error. I did this on 2 separate w/s's -- each XP SP3, one using Excel 2007 with file created in 2007 and saved as .xls, the other using Excel 2003 using the same file that was created in Excel 2007 and saved as .xls. I've also completed the import with and without validation turned on.

What OS is your workstation?
