How do you modify the Adagio Menu to include programs you access frequently?

I used to know how to do this but it seems to have changed.

Thank you.

Hi Cheryl,

There's a Tech Tip available that describes how to so this.

Thank you.

Can you point to a File or does it have to be a program?

I just want to quick link to the ePrint Report folder.

Thank you.

Hi Cheryl,

I use an edited Menus.ini to put the Windows Explorer program on the Adagio menu to load Explorer and default the location to the data directory. This is what mine looks like:

[Adagio]
WinExplorer=WinExplorer

[WinExplorer]
name=Windows Explorer
data=none
program=C:\windows\explorer.exe
parameters= /E,%d
hint=Windows Explorer

The /E parameter is the standard Windows parameter used for a default folder to open with Windows Explorer - I presume you could enter your ePrint Report folder here. If you can't use C:\windows as the path to the Explorer program, you can also use this (another shortcut I have on my desktop to start Windows Explorer and default to the root C drive):
%SystemRoot%\\explorer.exe /E,C:\

Note that you have to put a comma after the /E parameter, followed by the path (with no spaces in between). If your ePrint Reports folder path has spaces in it, I suspect you would have to surround the entire path in double quotes:
%SystemRoot%\\explorer.exe /E,"F:\softrak\data\PDF reports\"

(By the way, %d is the parameter for the data directory to which the Adagio program is loading data from).

Hi Cheryl,

Your original post said you wanted to point to the ePrint report Folder, which would be viewed with Explorer. If you want to point to a single File, then you need to launch the program that would be used to View/Edit that file (Word in the case of a DOC file and Excel in the case of an XLS file) and launch the appropriate PROGRAM with the name of the FILE on the command line as a parameter.

Would I put the folder name in the parameters?

Thanks again

The Folder name is a parameter to the program Windows Explorer. The entire File Path (Folder+File Name) would be a parameter to whatever program you are trying to launch to view the file.

Since there seems to be a bit of confusion about whether we are talking about a File or a Folder, have you tried launching Explorer as mentioned in the Softrak Support reply?

I apologize for the confusion.
It is a folder.

I was off to try it but was confused by the parameter line.

I'll let you know how it goes.

OK

I can launch Windows Explorer now.
The EPrint folder is on the server so now I just type the whole path (including the server name)?
