Is there a way to lock the timekeeper rates. That is to not allow individual timekeers to change the billing rate that shows up automatically when they are entering time sheets?

Hi mbanks,

If you click the Setup button on the TimeKeeper toolbar (it's the one with the tools), there is an option to Show Rates, which can be disabled. Only the SYS user can enable or disable this option, and it is global across all users - so you cannot have some staff see rates and others not.

We are using Adagio Time & Billing 8.1C -- I do not see a setup button on the toolbar... please help.

The button is in the TimeKeeper program, not the main Time and Billing program.

We do not use the timekeeper program to enter timsheets - we enter them directly through the time & Billing main program.

OK. You said 'timekeeper rates' in your original post.

In the main program and Time and Disbursement batch entry, if the user has security access to Edit Batches then they can edit any field including the rates. There are no specific security settings to disable access to certain fields. I can forward this as a suggestion for a future release.

Perhaps for those users that you would prefer to lock down the rates, then using TimeKeeper or an Excel file for importing to keep track of time may be useful.

Timesheets can be entered manually into TimeKeeper and then automatically transferred into a batch in Time&Billing. If you'd like the functionality of hiding rates from staff (or at least preventing them from changing them, it is straightforward to have them enter their time into TimeKeeper and then push a button to create a batch for review in Time&Billing.
